Trestle Tables
Adaptations of 15th Century examples

Six 3' x 5' pine trestle tables were built in the Winter of 2004 by the members of the Wanderstamm household, mainly for use in our shared encampments. Inspired by period illustrations, they have also been designed to pack inside their own tabletops for transport and storage. Everything was made from 1" stock, planed to 3/4". The tables stand 27 3/4" tall when assembled, 1 1/2" when disassembled and nested.

The tenons at each end of the trestle are sideways to accommodate the use of narrow stock. Two wedges are used at each joint to prevent racking.
